Setting Up SMTP Authentication for Mac Mail

1. Open Mac Mail.  Select Mail / Preferences.

2. Click the Accounts button, located at the top of the window.

3. Click the Server Settings button near the bottom of the page...

4. Under Outgoing Mail Server, do the following:

• In the Outgoing Mail Server box, enter the outgoing (SMTP) server: mail.minetfiber.net

• In the field labeled 'Server Port' enter '465'

• Put a check in the box labeled 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

• Be sure the Use Authentication dropdown is set to 'Password'.

• In the User Name box, enter your entire email address (e.g., user@minetfiber.com).

• In the Password box, enter the password for your email account.

5. Click the Continue button, and Mail will check the connection to make sure it succeeds. If there’s an error in verifying your server setup, simply click Go Back to recheck your settings and make sure everything is correct.  If you are unable to complete setup without clearing any errors you will need to contact Minet for further assistance.

6. When the setup process is done, you’ll see a window that summarizes your connections. Click Done to finish the setup.

7. If you have more accounts to configure, repeat the above steps, starting with a click of the plus sign in the Accounts window, and you’ll be taken through the same set of setup screens.

Please Note : You will receive a notification regarding a Security Certificate when sending your email after setting up SMTP Authentication. Simply choose to accept the Security Certificate.
