Summer days, School begins, and Fun continues

We've enjoyed summer entertainment, we've been inspired by an eclipse and we've done all those wonderful things that summer brings. But this month, Fall begins and it's time to turn once again toward education.

A new sheriff (school superintendent) is in town for Central School District. Jennifer Kubista is looking forward to having kids back at school. School begins September 5.

September 9 is the annual PCL Company/Community Picnic—free and fun for all, finishing with fireworks.

For freshmen at WOU, the year kicks off with a “New Student Feed” on the 18th, either in the Grove or in Werner Center, weather dictating. WOU classes begin September 25.

On the 22nd of the month is the now-traditional Independence Ghost Walk, starting at 6 PM.

On September 24, visit Festival Informativo (Resource Festival) at Independence Civic Center.

And on the 25th of the month, come be a guest at the first annual Murder Mystery Dinner put on by the Independence Downtown Association.
