At the invitation of Senator Jeff Merkley, Don Patten, the General Manager of MINET, went to Washington, DC, last month for a meeting with a large group of senators interested in connecting rural America. Concerning that meeting:

“It was a pleasure hosting Mr. Patten at our Rural Summit in D.C.,” said Oregon’s U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley. “A discussion about rural issues is stronger when Oregonians’ voices are heard, and I appreciate Mr. Patten bringing his expertise on broadband internet to the table. I have used my position as top Democrat on the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee to secure major investments in rural broadband, and I will continue to work with MINET and other stakeholders to invest in rural America’s future by expanding access to high-speed internet.”
