MI Skatepark - How to Support

MI Skatepark

The cities of Monmouth and Independence are working with a group of local volunteers, known as MI Town Skatepark to construct a new regional skate park facility.  The new facility would be located in the Monmouth Recreational Park just west of the existing skate park facility on the other side of the baseball field next to Hogan Road. The goal of the skate park project is to address the ever-changing recreational needs of our larger, more diverse population and to ensure the cities' facilities reflect those current and future trends.

Over the course of four (4) years, the Skate Park Committee has:

  • Officially partnered with the City of Monmouth and Monmouth Independence Community Foundation (MICF), who will be serving as the project fiscal agents,
  • Secured an official location for the new skate park,
  • Raised money to receive the initial conceptual design from Dreamland Skateparks,
  • Initiated fundraising efforts to build the new skate park.
  • Received 90% Construction Drawings

Conceptual Skate Park Design   This 12,000sqft, concrete skate park will be able to meet the needs of our community, and increase tourism, all while building community. This park will be open year round to accommodate beginners to experts, in skating, biking, scooting, roller skating and rollerblading.
